PDP suspends its MLA and former minister in J&K sex racket case

Srinagar, Oct 8 (UNI) Peoples Democratic Party, a partner in the Congress -led coalition government, today suspended its former minister and sitting Member of Legislative Assembly Ghulam Hassan Khan for his alleged involvement in the sex racket case.

PDP president Mehbooba Mufti said in the wake of the High Court judgment on the sex racket case this afternoon, Khan has been suspended from the party.

She said Khan, MLA from Shopian in south Kashmir, would remain suspended till the legal proceedings reached the logical conclusion.

A Division Bench of the High Court has directed Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) to frame charges against Khan, Cabinet Minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen and former minister and Congress MLA from Jammu Yogesh Sawhney.

Official sources said Hakeem Yaseen is out of country on a pilgrimage to holy cities of Mecca and Madina.
