NFR personnel drowns in Dhansiri at Dimapur

Kohima, Oct 8 (UNI) A senior technician of the North East Frontier Railway(NFR) drowned in Dhansiri river at Dimapur yesterday.

Official sources here today said that Kalipada Chakraborty, who was repairing a valve of the water pump of the NFR, suddenly slipped and fell into the Dhansiri river which was then in high spate.

The local people and police searched for the body, but failed to recover it. The Army Engineering Department of 3 Crops then launched a rescue operation in the river, but also met with the same fate.
