Left dharna in Andhra Pradesh on price hike

Vijayawada, Oct 8: The CPI and CPI(M) today staged a dharna before the Sub-Collector's Office here against spiralling prices of essential commodities.

About 300 party activists led by Vijayawada West Legislator and CPI Leader Nazar Vali, CPI(M) State Committee Member Ch Babu Rao and CPI(M) District Secretary Uma Maheswara Rao took part.

The Left demanded the state government to immediately take steps to regulate the prices of essential commodities as it was imposing a burden on the common man.

Later, the leaders submitted a memorandum to Vijayawada Sub-Collector G Uppal.
