J'khand HC directs govt to take action against law offending autos
Ranchi, Oct 8 (UNI) Jharkhand High Court today directed the Ranchi district administration to take action against auto rickshaw drivers who create problems during plying of city bus services introduced here recently.
A division bench, comprising Chief Justice Muthuswamy Karpagavinayagam and Justice Amreshwar Sahay, passed the order while hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by one Janak Kumar Mishra.
During the course of interrogation, the court observed that city bus services, a cheap means of travelling in cities, existed throughout the country except Jharkhand.
State Advocate General (AG) S B Garodia, appearing on behalf of the government, informed the court that buses were plying on four routes in the state capital and tenders had been invited to introduce similar service on other routes.
Earlier, the petitioner informed the court that other means of transport, including vikrams and minidors, were creating pollution and disregarding traffic rules in the city.
