Flying squad to check mineral theft in Orissa
Bhubaneswar, Oct 8 (UNI) In an attempt to check the growing theft and illegal trade of minerals in Orissa, the government today decided to constitute two flying squads comprising police and civil officials.
A meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took this decision to set up the squads under the direct supervision of the Inspector General (Law and Order).
Each squad will be constituted with the officers from the Forest, Mines and State Police departments have one section of police force comprising two sub inspectors and ten havildars in its composition, official sources said.
