Cooptex Thanjavur targets Rs 950 lk sales

Tiruchirapalli, Oct 8: Tamil Nadu's apex body of handloom cooperatives, Cooptex, has targeted Rs 950 lakh in sales for the Thanjavur Region comprising the revenue districts of Tiruchirapalli, Karur, Perambalur, Thanjavur and Pudukottai.

In his address at a function marking special rebate sale for the festive season here today, Cooptex Thanjavur Regional Manager C Selvaraj said they proposed to achieve Rs 400 lakh of the targeted sales during Diwali season.

Last year, the region achieved sales of Rs 752 lakh, including Rs 330 lakh for Diwali.

Cooptex also proposed to open its 17th showroom in the region at Tiruverubmur, near here, he said while adding readymade garments evoked good response from buyers.
