Basirhat, Oct 8: Border Security Forces today shot dead a Bangladeshi national and injured few others, while they were smuggling cattle out of the country at Boalia village near Koijuri border outpost under Swarupnagar police station in North 24 Parganas.

Official sources here said a gang of Bangladeshi smugglers were crossing the international border with a number of cattleheads from the Indian side and the BSF jawans opened fire killing one of the smugglers on the spot, while four other sustained bullet injuries.

The four injured persons, however, managed to flee with the cattle.
