Police vehicle set on fire by mob in Kashmir after accident

Srinagar, Oct 7 (UNI) People at Anantnag in south Kashmir took to the streets and set on fire a police Jeep after it hit and wounded one person today while two people were injured in another road accident in the valley.

Official sources said a speedy Jeep of security wing of the police, attached with zonal president of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), hit and wounded one Manzoor Ahmad Malik near women's college at Anantnag.

Later, people of the area protested against the accident and set on fire the vehicle.

They said one Shabroza Akhter was hit and injured by a three wheeler at Shamsipora, in Anantnag. She was hospitalised.

A Truck hit and injured one Habibullah Dar at Wadpora Handwara.

A Power Development Department (PDD) employee was critically wounded when he got contact with a live wire during repairing at Fatehpora. He was admitted to hospital in a critical condition.
