NDRI scientist nominated for 'MS Swaminathan Award'

Hyderabad, Oct 7 (UNI) National Dairy Research Institute, Head of Division of Dairy cattle Physiology B S Prakash, has been nominated for the prestigious MS Swaminathan award for the year 2006-07.

According to a press release here, the award, Instituted by Retired Indian Council of Agricultural Research Employees Association (RICAREA) in association with Nuziveedu Seeds, would be presented to Dr Prakash by the noted Agriculture scientist and father of 'Green Revolution' MS Swaminathan at a function being organised on November three in the city.

The award carries a cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh, gold medal, and a Citation.

The toal nominations received for the award were 34 from eminent scientists from all over the country covering agricultural sciences (22), agricultural engineering (2), animal sciences (4), fisheries sciences (5) and home science (1).
