Harisingh Gour University's former VC dead

Sagar, MP, Oct 7 (UNI) Former legislator and Dr Harisingh Gour University's ex-Vice Chancellor Shivkumar Srivastava passed away at a private hospital here today.

He was 80.

Family sources said Srivastava, who was not a bachelor, was ailing for the past few months.

He was elected to the state assembly twice in 1977 and 1980.

A student of the first batch of the university, Srivastava served as its vice-chancellor from November 1995 to April 2001. He was also associated with several organisations, including the Madhya Pradesh Hindi Sahitya Sammelan.

He was also a noted poet and litterateur.
