Dr Harisingh Gour University's former VC dead

Sagar, MP, Oct 7 (UNI) Former legislator and Dr Harisingh Gour University's ex-Vice Chancellor Shivkumar Srivastava passed away at a private hospital here today.

He was 80.

Family sources said Mr Srivastava, who was not married, was ailing since past few months.

Mr Srivastava was elected to the state assembly twice in 1977 and 1980.

A student of the first batch of the university, Mr Srivastava served as its vice-chancellor from November 1995 to April 2001. He was associated with several organisations including the Madhya Pradesh Hindi Sahitya Sammelan.

He was also a noted poet and litterateur.
