CHIP to organise glittering fundraising event

Mumbai, Oct 7 (UNI) CHildren In Pain (CHIP), a non government organisation (NGO) working for the upliftment of children in distress, will organise a glittering fundraising event here on Thursday.

In the event, to be held at J W Marriott Hotel, celebrities from all walks of life will come together to help raise funds for a cause.

Model-turned-actor Malaika Arora-Khan will walk the ramp, while singer Shaan will perform live. Besides, there is a fashion show by leading designer Deepika Gehani, which is choreographed by Anupama Verma. These are some of the programmes that will be part of this red carpet event.

Started in Kolkata by a group of doctors and educationalists in 1997, CHIP came to Mumbai after noted media personalities such as Dr Sunita Banerjee, Kunickaa Sadanand Lall and Ruby Bhatia intiated it four years ago.

The organisation began its work in the city by adopting a Municipal school at Prateeksha Nagar to provide quality education to its students.

Further bridging the gap between different strata's of society, CHIP has announced a strategic partnership with the leading IB school, Ecole Mondiale World School.

Children from both the schools will be walking the ramp with their mothers, thereby sending a message towards a sensitive and inclusive society. The mothers of Ecole Mondiale School will also help in marketing the donor passes for the event.
