Crisis in Karnataka as the deadline ends

New Delhi, Oct 2, 2007: The JD (S) today rejected the BJP deadline to H D Kumaraswamy, to step down as the Chief Minister of Karnataka, and sought to distance from the power-sharing pact reached 20 months ago. As per the power-sharing pact, JD (S) is supposed to transfer power to BJP on October 3.

According to JD (S) supremo H D Deve Gowda, the party's Political Affairs Committee scheduled to meet in Delhi on October 5 will take a final decision on power transfer.
