Three dengue cases detected in Fatehgarh Sahib

Fatehgarh Sahib, Oct 4 (UNI) Three patients of dengue, one of them a child, have been detected in district Fatehgarh Sahib.

While one case was confirmed by PGIMR, Chandigarh, the two others were detected by a Khanna-based medical laboratory.

Sources said that Kalawat, an 8 year-old male child, a resident of Motia Khan area of Mandi Gobindgarh was found suffering from dengue, when he was admitted at the PGIMR.

The other two, Rishu and Sanjeev, both residents of Mandi Gobindgarh, were found suffering from dengue when their blood samples were taken by a Khanna-based medical laboratory.

Fatehgarh Sahib Civil Surgeon Dr SMS Sidhu confirmed that the health department had received report from the PGIMR about a child suffering from dengue. He said that the health department was making all efforts to trace the patients who were tested in the Khanna-based lab as their address were incomplete in the records.

He said that the health department had launched a medical survey at Mandi Gobindgarh. Earlier, a large number of jaundice cases were reported in this industrial town.
