Sugar prices decline on thin bulk consumers demand

Navi Mumbai, Oct 4 (UNI) Sugar prices today drifted lower by Rs 15 per quintal on sustained heavy selling support from stockists, in the face of larger stock arrivals from mills, traders at the wholesale sugar market said.

Prices of small and medium grades (per quintal) declined by Rs 10 and Rs 15 respectively on thin bulk consumers and retailer consumers demand in the face of better stock arrivals from co-operative mills.

Sugar in ex-mill small and medium grades (per quintal) also dropped by by Rs 15 and Rs five respectively on poor buying support from dealers.

Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,350/1,390, Medium grade: Rs 1,390/1,485.

Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,325/1,365, Medium grade: Rs 1,380/1443.
