Salem Rly division from Nov 1

Chennai, Oct 4: Railway Minister Lalu Prasad will inaugurate the Salem Railway Division on November 1. According to a notification issued by Railway Board in Central Gazette, the Division would temporarily function from a building in Salem railway quarters.

The Railway Minister would lay the foundation stone for a new building. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi would grace the occasion. Minister of State for Railways R Velu would meet with officials of the Southern Railway here tomorrow.

The Railway Minister would inaugurate the newly-converted Salem-Vriddhchalam broad gauge line.
