Rupee weaks per dollar

Mumbai, Oct 4: Rupee opened a tad weaker against dollar at 39.60/62 in the overnight forex market today.

This could be owing to the possible intervention from the central bank side which has been attempting to moderate the unit's gains in past weeks, a dealer said.

Rupee touched an intra-day high of 39.56 per dollar and a low of 39.64 per dollar till (1105 hrs). The unit is currently trading at 39.57 per US dollar.
