Nickel, tin, lead, copper prices rise on firm global advice

Mumbai, Oct 4 (UNI) Prices of nickel, tin, lead copper and aluminium in ferrous and non ferrous metal rallied again today on sustained brisk industrial users demand and firm advice from London Metal Exchange (LME), Kolkata, Delhi and other centres, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said today.

In the ferrous category (per quintal), copper utensils advanced by Rs 100. Brass utensils and Brass cutting shot up by Rs 100 each owing to lack of offers by stockists induced by firm advice from LME, Kolkata and other centres.

In the non-ferrous segment (per quintal), copper wire bars also rose by Rs 100 while Lead Ingot and zinc slab inched up by Rs 300 and Rs 100 respectively on sustained heavy industrial demand from local dealers in the face of lesser ready stocks at the domestic markets.

Nickel cathode and tin slab also spurted up by Rs 30 and Rs ten per kg respectively on brisk industrial users demand coupled with bullish advice from LME and Kolkata.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 36,800, Copper utensils - Rs 32,900, Brass utensils - Rs 26,000, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,300 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 10,800.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 40,,000, Aluminium ingots - Rs 12,300, Zinc slab - Rs 16,800, Lead ingots - Rs 12,600, Tin slab - Rs 790 per kg and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,540 per kg.
