Man killed in road accident, mob goes berserk

Basti, Oct 4 (UNI) An irate mob today torched three trucks on Basti-Faizabad national highway, after a man was killed in a road accident here.

Police Superintendent Anand Swaroop said Rajendra Singh was run over by a speeding truck near Futiya crossing.

Irked over the incident, the mob went berserk, indulging in violence, in which several policemen also sustained injury.

Later, senior officials reached the spot and pacified the mob.

Meanwhile, one person had been arrested for the violence.
