KMF to invest Rs 70 Cr for setting up Milk Cream Plant
Mangalore, Oct 4 (UNI) The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) will invest Rs 70 crore for setting up a Milk Cream Plant, K M F Managing Director E R Ramalinge Gowda said today.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function organized by the Daxina Kannada Milk Producers Union here, he said that the plant was expected to be ready by March end. It was also proposed to spend Rs 30 crore for setting up of cattle feed unit in Bangalore.
He said that the Federation was earning profit since last 12 years in the state. It was procuring 33 lakh liters of Milk daily out of which about 22 lakh liters was sold out in the milk form while about 2 lakh liters was sold in the form of curds. Over 23 lakh milk was used for other milk products while 1.4 lakh liters sent to Delhi and 1.5 lakh liters to Kerala, he said adding that the Federation had disbursed Rs. 60 lakh as incentives to the milk producers in the state.
