Karat pays homage to Dhakad

Bhopal, Oct 4 (UNI) CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat led a group of party leaders in paying glowing tributes to party's Madhya Pradesh unit Secretary Bahadur Singh Dhakad, who died on August 19.

At a condolence meeting here yesterday, Mr Karat said Mr Dhakad was always concerned over the travails of the working class and inspired people to fight against dangers facing the nation.

Recalling Mr Dhakad's intervention in last meeting of CPI(M) Central Committee, Mr Karat said Mr Dhakad felt that how could a Left-supported government could join hands with imperialist forces.

Mr Dhakad led rallies against Indo-US nuclear agreement in 42 districts. Mr Dhakad's death was an irreparable loss to the party, he added.

Politburo member Dr M K Pandhe also paid homage to Mr Dhakad, who died in Gwalior. He was cremated at his home town Sabalgarh in Morena district.
