Darjeeling, Oct 4 (UNI) The Gorkha National Liberation Front(GNLF) today decided to expel DGHC's Singhamari president Bimal Gurung for his alleged anti-party activities.

This decision was taken at a meeting, which was presided over by former Executive Councillor of DGHC and Darjeeling GNLF president Deepak Gurung.

Briefing the press here after the meeting, Deepak Gurung said the meeting noted with concern the direct attack on the leadership of GNLF supremo Subash Ghishing by Bimal Gurung demanding Mr Ghishing to come out publicly on the creation of a separate state of Gorkhaland.

Bimal Gurung raised his voice against Mr Ghishing on September 10 and rejected the demand for Sixth Schedule status, raised by Mr Ghishing.

Deepak Gurung said the party had directed all its units and frontal organisations to celebrate the victory of the GNLF in securing the demand for the Sixth Schedule status under the leadership of Mr Ghishing.

He said the GNLF would hold rallies and meetings all over Darjeeling, celebrating the approval given by the Central Cabinet to bring a Bill granting the Sixth Schedule status to DGHC in the winter session of Parliament.

Earlier today, the leaders of three branch committees of the GNLF from Darjeeling, Kurseong and Kalimpong met Subash Ghishing at Lalkothi, the headquaters of the DGHC, and discussed the latest political development of Darjeeling hills.
