Education being commercialised, politicised in India: Swraj Paul
Chennai, Oct 4 (UNI) Lord Swraj Paul of Marylebone, founder of the UK-based Caparo Group, today regretted that education in India was becoming a big business and was being politicised, which he said was a ''dangerous trend''.
Talking to newspersons to announce the inauguration of Caparo manufacturing facilities at Sriperumbudur, near here, he said, ''Education has become a big business in India. It is also being politicised. Both are dangerous as children deserve better.'' Education and health care were the two thrust areas that require huge investments, which in turn would yield greater returns, he said.
''No other investments can have as good a return as healthcre and education,'' he observed.
