Hamirpur, Oct 4 (UNI) Former Himachal Pradesh chief minister and senior BJP leader Prem Kumar Dhumal today alleged discrimination in allocation of funds to Hamirpur, Una, Kangra, Chamba and Bilaspur district of the state under the ''Vikas Main Jan Sahyog Programme''.

In a statement issued here, he charged the officers of the Planning Department for discriminating in allocation of funds to the five districts, saying strict action should be taken against officers responsible for this.

Under the programme, twenty-five per cent funds are to be provided by the local people, while the remaining seventy five per cent are to be provided by the state government for carrying out various developmental activities.

Mr Dhumal said the figures showed that funds were allocated on the basis of concocted figures rather than going through the actual figures, thereby causing harm to the interests of the people of the five districts.

Sirmaur, Chamba, Hamirpur, Una, Kangra and Bilaspur were given Rs 58.13 lakh, Rs 56.73 lakh, Rs 27.09 lakh, Rs 48.57 lakh, Rs 298.29 lakh and Rs 74.03 lakh respectively as against their respective share of Rs 125.60 lakh, Rs 122.56 lakh, Rs 94.45 lakh, Rs 102.70 lakh, Rs 338.89 lakh and 79.37 lakh respectively, he added.
