Admissible facilities not given to convicts of DM murder case
Patna, Oct 4 (UNI) Former Bihar Minister and MP Vashisth Narayan Singh and Chairman of All India Swami Shajanand Saraswati Foundation Arun Kumar today demanded that the government provide facilities to the convicts of DM G.M.Krishnaiyya murder case as they were entitled.
Both the leaders said here today that they were not allowed to meet the convicts in Beur Central jail and alleged that the government was functioning with political bias. They said the convicts were political leaders and should be given the facilities inside the jail that they are entitled for.
Mr Arun Kumar said in several cases the lower court verdicts had been reverted by the higher courts and the case of JMM leader Shibu Soren was a recent example to it as the high court exonerated the leader from the charges for which he was awarded life imprisonment by the lower court.
The security arrangements and deployment of the police in the jail where these seven leaders had been lodged reminds one of British rule, they said.
