23-yr-old hangs self after dowry harassment

New Delhi, Oct 4 (UNI) Harassed regularly by her in-laws for dowry, a 23-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in Dwarka area of South-West Delhi.

Bharti, married nearly one-and-a-half years ago, was found hanging from a fan at her in-laws place in Palam Nagar, Dwarka, at about 0930 hrs yesterday, police said today.

Her husband Pawan, who is unemployed, mother-in-law Satbiro and brother-in-law Baljit were arrested today after Bharti's father alleged that she had been killed because of regularly being harassed for dowry.

A Hunt is on for Bharti's father-in-law, Prashant, who is absconding.

No suicide note has been found.

Investigations are on and the case registered, police added.
