Slain IAS officer's wife hails court verdict

Hyderabad, Oct 3 (UNI) Ms Uma Krishnaiya, wife of Former Gopalganj District Magistrate G Krishnaiya, today expressed happiness over the award of death sentence to Former MP and JD-U Leader Anand Mohan and life imprisonment to his wife Lovely, also a Former MP, in her husband's murder case.

Talking to newsmen here, Ms Krishnaiya said ''my husband chose civil services to serve the poor but was killed in the hands of anti-social elements before realising his dreams.'' She settled down here after her husband's murder and focused on her children's education and career.

Mr Krishnaiya, who was on way to Gopalganj from Samastipur, was thrashed by a mob and later shot dead near Khabra Village on National Highway 28 in Muzaffarpur District of Bihar on December 5,1994.
