Removal of title song from film 'Bhool Bhulaiyya' demanded

Mumbai, Oct 3 (UNI) A petition has been filed in a local court here seeking removal of the title song from the film 'Bhool Bhulaiyya' on the ground that ''it is derogatory of Gautama Buddha''.

The petition has been filed against the chairperson of the Censor Board of Film Certification and four others. The court has posted the hearing of petition, filed by an NGO, to October 6.

Adv Sushan Kunjuraman, who is representing the petitioner, said certain scenes depicted during the course of the title song are hurtful to the religious sentiments.

The petiton states that eight semi-nude girls are shown dancing to the tunes of the title song with the words 'Hare Rama' and 'Hare Krishna' inscribed on their sparse clothing. The song depicts the statue of Gautama Buddha in the background.

''Such depiction is hurtful to the sentiments of the people,'' the petitioner has said.
