NSCBIA suffers Power-Cut

Kolkata, Oct 03 (UNI) Power cuts at Kolkata Airport this evening affected flight and passenger facilities.

There was no light on the secondary runway for 10 minutes from 1830 hours. The secondary runway is being used because of repair works on the main run-way today.

An AIR India, Kolkata-Mumbai flights and a Kingfisher flight to Bhubaneswar from here which were ready for departure on schedule but was held up for 10 minutes till the lights came on. An Air Decan Ranchi-Kolkata flight was kept on hold in the sky for five minutes before being cleared for landing because of the non-availability of the runway lights.

There was also a power cut at the Domestic Terminal for 15 minutes from 1940 hours which led to computer shut down affecting passenger facilitation. This led to a mild protest by some passengers.
