Nadiad, Gujarat, Oct 3 (UNI) Chief Minister Narendra Modi has announced a Rs 13,000 crore package for the urban poor for building one lakh houses.

Mr Modi, who was here to dedicate 20 developmental projects worth Rs 20 crores, said at a meeting last evening that the houses will be built municipal corporations and municipal councils in the state.

Meanwhile, criticising the UPA regime and referring to the Sethu Samudram project, Mr Modi said Lord Rama's name was etched in the hearts of every Indian and dared the Congress to remove the words ''Hey Ram'' inscribed on Mahatma Gandhi's samadhi at Rajghat.

He also flayed Prime minister Manmohan Singh for saying that the first right on the nation's resources belonged to Muslims. ''If that is so, what about others?'' Mr Modi queried.

Mr Modi remarked that ''Sonia sarkar'' is bent upon introducing religion-based reservations that is inimical to nation's unity.

It is good that courts have ruled the measure as illegal, he added.

He alleged that in Congress-ruled states, the activities of terrorists, naxalites and Bangladeshi infiltrators had risen.

Mr Modi also criticised the Centre for allegedly neglecting the memory of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. In perpetuating the memory of Jawaharlal Nehru, the Congress is spending huge amounts through budgetary allocation, but not a single paisa is allocated to perpetuate Sardar Patel's memory, he alleged.
