Govt announces "Gandhi Adigal Police Medal" to cops

Chennai, Oct 3 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu government today announced "Gandhi Adigal Police Medal" to Mr Selsam Monickarao, Additional Superintendent of Police, Prohibition Enforcement Wing, Tirunelveli district, and three other police personnel for curtailing illicit liquor trade.

The medal, which carried a cash prize of Rs 20,000, would be presented by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on the next Republic Day, an official release here said.

The other medal winners were: Mr K Narayamurthy, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Vellore District, Karthikeyan, Inspector of Police, Vellore district and G Soundarajan, Sub Inspector of Police, Kancheepuram district.
