Court directs SHO to investigate case against Karunanidhi

Vijayawada, Oct 3 (UNI) A magistrate court here today directed the Penamuluru Station House Officer (SHO) to file a report in the court by November 5 on a petition filed against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi for his critical remarks against Lord Ram in the 'Ram Sethu' issue.

First Metropolitan Magistrate K Rambabau gave this direction when the petition, filed by BJP State Executive member Kurma Rao, came up for hearing.

Mr Rao, in his petition, contended that Mr Karunandihi, through his remarks against Lord Ram, had hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindus and action be taken against him under Sections 295 and 298 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
