Continental Airlines launches Mumbai-New York service
Mumbai, Oct 3 (UNI) US-based Continental Airlines has launched its maiden non-stop flight between Mumbai and New York.
Announcing the launch of the new service at a press meet here today, Airlines' President Jeffery Smisek said, ''We are confident that our award-winning service, together with the unique connectivity offered by our New York hub, will make Continental the first choice for trans-Atlantic travellers from the great city.'' Continental Airlines, ranked as the fourth largest airlines across the globe, was the first air carrier to connect India and the US with a scheduled non-stop service between New Delhi and New York in 2005.
The flights are being operated by a 285-seat Boeng 777, carrying 50 passengers in the BusinessFirst and another 235 in the economy class.
The service initially will be operated four times a week, and from October 28 (westbound) the flight's frequency will be increased to make it a daily one.
