City court sentences rapists to ten years imprisonment

New Delhi, Oct 3 (UNI) A local court today sentenced two people found guilty of raping a girl to 10 years imprisonment with a fine of Rs 500 each.

According to the prosecution, in the year 2005, two people namely Rajesh and Goverdhan raped the petitioner. The prosecution examined 16 witnesses to prove the case of rape.

Father of the petitioner complained about the incident to police station, Najafgarh and a case under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code was registered against both the convicts in the year 2005.

Additional Sessions Judge S P Garg, after hearing the arguments, found Rajesh and Goverdhan guilty of committing the crime and convicted them to ten years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 500 each.
