Bandh to protest Forward Bloc leader's murder at Uluberia
Howrah, Oct 3 (UNI) A 12-hour bandh, sponsorded by Forward Bloc to protest murder of a local party leader, paralised life at Uluberia municipility today.
Forward Bloc's activist Shaikh Jossimuddin was gunned down by some unidentified gunmen near Uluberaia railway station, about 60 kms north of Kolkata while he was sitting at a shop last evening.
Jossimudding was also accused of a murder case of a local CPI(M) leader, police added.
All offices including government and private organisations were closed in the municipality area. However, life on the highway and railway station was normal.
No arrest had been made so far.
