Meghalaya police cautions public on fake agents
Shillong, Oct 2 (UNI) The Meghalaya police has cautioned public against people claiming to be agents of various placement companies in the city.
In a press statement issued here, East Khasi Hills District Superintendent of Police A R Mawthoh said the agents have duped unemployed youths by collecting money and original certificates on various pretexts, promising to provide lucrative jobs in various national and international companies in India and even abroad.
A number of youths had already fallen victim to such nefarious activities, the SP said.
Mr Mawthoh also appealed to the public to be cautious while dealing with people who claimed of offering jobs against money. He has urged them to inform the nearest police station or the SP so that requisite action can be taken immediately.
