Bangalore, Oct 2 (UNI) Political Affairs Committee of Janata Dal (Secular) will meet in New Delhi on October 5 to discuss transfer of power to Bharatiya Janata Party in Karnataka, Party Supremo H D Deve Gowda said today.

Speaking to newsmen at the party office here he said the meeting would consider views of the legislators and minister on transfer of power and the decision would be binding on everyone in the party.

The meeting is considered significant in the light of an ultimatum given by coalition partner Bharatiya Janata Party that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy should resign the post and send a letter to Governor supporting the BJP leader taking over as the Chief Minister on behalf of the Janata Dal (S) Legislature Party.

BJP leader, in charge of party affairs in Karnataka, Yashwant Sinha yesterday clarified that there was no further talks with JD(S) and there was no alternative other than the JD(S) transferring power to BJP as scheduled on October three. Mr Sinha is still staying in the city to hammer out a solution to end impasse.

JD(S) appeared to be bidding time and it was evident from the Chief Minister's remarks that such political decisions could not be taken in a haste.

Both the parties are expected to meet later in the day and chalk out future strategies. While the BJP ministers were contemplating submitting resignation en masse to pressurise the JD(S) leadership, the Chief Minister was also expected to take a stand after eliciting views from his party legislators.
