Illegal property of criminals to be seized

Siddharthnagar, Oct 2 (UNI) Police have decided to act tough against criminals, who have allegedly amassed properties through illegal means.

Basti range DIG Sujan Veer Singh today said the drive would be undertaken in three districts viz Sant Kabirnagar, Siddharthnagar and Basti.

The district police would identify all history-sheeters in their respective jurisdiction to initiate action against them, he informed.

So far, 18 mafias had been arrested and sent to jail, of which 13 hailed from Basti.

Thirteen criminals had been slapped with NSA and 66 were booked under Gangster Act.

Action had also been taken against 399 miscreants under Goonda Act, Mr Singh added.
