Grama sabha meeting held in 98 villages: Official

Puducherry, Oct 2 (UNI) The grama sabha meeting was held in 98 villages today for the first time after the local body elections in the Union Territory.

Talking to newspersons here, Local Administration Director Vallavan said the department had allocated Rs 5,000 each to the villages for conducting the meeting.

The meeting reviewed several schemes, earmarked budget allocation to the villages, precautionary measures to be taken for the rainy season and decided to discuss social auditing in the next meeting, he added.
