Four of a family hacked to death in Assam

Guwahati, Oct 2 (UNI) All four members of a family were hacked to death by unidentified assailants in Golaghat district of Assam late last night.

Police today informed that Bokul Deka(27), his wife Anju(25) and their children, Nabajyoti(8) and Bhonita(3) were killed when they were asleep.

They were residents of Pubdilpathar area under Sarupathar police station in Golagaht district. Bokul kept a small store in the area.

The reason behind the killing was not yet known, though police suspect family rivalry to be the motive.

One Makom Das of the locality had been picked for questioning.
