Jaipur, Oct 2 (UNI) Former Lok Sabha Speaker and Nationalist Congress Party leader PA Sangma today suggested the adoption of Meghalaya model of reservation for addressing the reservation imbroglio in Rajasthan.

Mr Sangma, while talking to newspersons here, said in Meghalaya different tribal groups have been earmarked a certain fixed percentage in the ST quota so that no group could raise a banner of revolt that a perticular caste or group have grabed the major chunk of reservation benefits.

He suggested that if a certain percentage of the reservation was earmarked for Gujjars in the 21 percent OBC quota in Rajasthan, it will leave no room for them to complain that the other advanced caste groups in the OBC have cornered the benefits of reservation.

He said the same could be adopted for SC and ST so that the complaint of some advaced groups within that category could be effectively addressed.
