Chouhan pays tributes to 'father of the nation'

Bhopal, Oct 2 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today paid glowing tributes to father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on the occasion of their birth anniversary.

Mr Chouhan administered pledge on 'Mere sapne ka Bharat' as per Gandhiji's ideals to a public group at a programme organised at Ravindra Bhavan here.

He said the government had taken several steps for welfare of poor as Gandhiji's ideals.

He remembered former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri's contribution towards development of the nation.

Glowing tributes were paid to Gandhiji and Shastriji at a programme organised at state Congress party headquarters in the state capital.

State Congress President Subhash Yadav took out a rally in Khargone and paid tributes to Gandhiji. Rallies were taken out in other districts also.

Several official and non-official programmes were organised in the memory of Gandhiji and Shastriji at various districts.
