AMWJU condemns killing of Japanese journalist in Myanmar
Imphal, Sep 30 (UNI) The All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) has condemned the killing of Japanese journalist Kenji Nagai in Myanmar on Thursday.
In a statement here, the AMWJU strongly condemned the killing during the ongoing crackdown in Myanmar, and issued an appeal to the authorities to prevent such incident in the future and to protect the lives of journalists.
Japan already had decided to send its Deputy Foreign Minister to Myanmar to investigate the death of the journalist.
Japan had hinted that it might review its aid programmes to Myanmar as a fallout of the incident.
