Yediyurappa hopeful of smooth transfer of power in Karnataka

Bangalore, Oct 1 (UNI) Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, the Chief Ministerial candidate of the BJP, today expressed confidence that power of transfer from JD(S) to his party will be a 'smooth affair' as per the pact reached between him and the Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy before the coalition Government was formed 20 months ago.

Speaking to newspersons here, he said that 'cloud of uncertainty' over the issue of transfer Chief Minister's post to BJP would be cleared by tomorrow and expressed confidence that the new Government would be installed after the completion of 20-months tenure of Mr Kumaraswamy.

Turning down to disclose the conditions placed before party emissary Yashwanth Sinha by JD(S) supremo H D Devegowda to hand over the power, Mr Yediyurappa said, ''I am not power hungry'.

Replying to questions on the possibility of snap elections to the state assembly Mr Yediyurappa said, ''As a responsible and a national political party BJP was ready to face any eventuality''.
