Tripura observes 101st birth anniversary of S D Burman

Agartala, Oct 1 (UNI) Tripura today observed the 101st birth anniversary of the late music maestro Sachin Deb Burma.

The celebration began early this morning at the Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan with the commemoration of the music genius while State Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Anil Sarkar paid tribute to him.

A daylong cultural programme and seminar on the contribution of S D Burman in the socio-cultural development of Tripura was organised by the cultural department on the occasion of his birthday.

Postmaster General of Northeast Circle M Yiafnio has released a stamp on the music genius, who enthralled generations through his soulful compositions. Tripura government has also released a commemorative book on S D Burman's life and work.
