Shivraj Patil to unveil Lal Bahadur Shastri's statue

Mumbai, Oct 1 (UNI) Union home Minister Shivraj Patil will unveil the statue of former Prime Minister late Lal Bahadur Shastri on the occasion of his birth anniversary here tomorrow.

The statue will be unveiled at Shyamsunder Mukherji Chowk (near Regal Cinema), under the joint auspices of Maharashtra government and Lalbahadur Shastri National Memorial Trust. Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh will preside over the function.

Union Minister for Petroleum Murli Deora and Deputy Chief Minister R R Pail will be the chief guests on the occasion. Mayor Dr Shubha Raul, former Union Minister Anil Shastri (Trustee of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Memorial Trust and MP), Milind Deora, MLA Annie Shekhar and Chief Secretary Johny Joseph among other dignitaries will also be present on the occasion.

Sculptor Rajan Yavalkar has moulded the statue.
