Local body elections: Two die after consuming too much of liquor
Raichur, Karnataka, Oct 1 (UNI) Tragedy struck two political party workers who took the Urban Local body election victory celebrations beyond limits by consuming too much of liquor and died at Sukalpet area in Sindhanur taluq of this district.
A group of people belonging to a national party were revelling the victory of their candidate after the results were out last evening but two of the tipplers drank so much that they fell unconscious and died before being taken to a hospital this morning.
They were identified as Venkanna (40) Urukundi(30).
Talking to UNI, Superintendent of Police B A Padmanayana said that the deceased had not consumed spurious liquor. The doctors confirmed that the deceased were habitual drinkers and had died due liver failure.
The SP also informed that the excise police had rushed to Sindhanur to investigate the deaths.
