Lawyers take out morcha to collectorate

Akola, Oct 1 (UNI) About 300 lawyers, affiliated to the Akola Bar association, today took out a 'silent' morcha to the District collectorate to protest the beating up of a lawyer and an advocate.

The delegation met the collector and apprised him of the beating of Lawyer Prakash Vakhre on september 16 at the civil line police station. The other incident of beating up of Advocate G M Bagde by a lady police constable at Khamgaon on september 27 was also brought to his notice.

The delegation demanded immediate suspension of PI Ashok Ingle and Aba Patil, police station officer of the civil lines police station, and a departmental inquiry against both of them.

They said the lady police constable and other cops should also placed be under suspension in connection with the second incident.

The delegation was led by senior criminal lawyer Motising Mohta and Advocate Girish Deshpande, president of the Akola Bar association.
