Goa Govt honours 16 senior citizens on World Elder's Day

Panaji, Oct 1 (UNI) Goa's social welfare department secretary Ajit Shrivastava today felicitated 16 senior citizens as part of the celebration of the 'World Elders Day'.

Each of them was presented a shawl and a memento at a function organised at the Porvorim secretariat complex by the Directorate of Social Welfare.

Mr Shrivastava also handed a cheque to Mathew Braganza towards the first instalment for opening a social welfare centre for senior citizens at Mapusa, in the presence of the director of the department P K Velip Kankar.
