25 people feared drowned as boat capsizes in Bihar
Barh, Oct 1 (UNI) Altogether 25 people were feared missing after their boat capsized midstream in the Dagrain river near here in Patna district tonight.
Preliminary reports quoting Barh Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ashok Kumar Chowdhury, camping near the spot, said the accident took place when the country made boat was ferrying about 35 people from Patwaria Ghat to Darbe Bhador area on the other side of the river when it was caught in the swirling current and capsized.
All the passengers fell into the river and went missing.
Though ten passengers swam to safety, 25 others have not been traced so far.
Soon a number of boats were pressed into service by the district administration, but none could be rescued though the search operation was still continuing in the dark.
Incidentally, the river was flowing over danger mark for the past few days following incessent rain in the district.
